Dear Friends,
Our unbridled creativity and genuine enthusiasm has attracted more great talent and allows us to take our ideas to the next step and beyond. We are very pleased to report that 118 Horological Machines (HM1 and HM2) have been delivered to date and that our order pipeline is over 12 months long ! Thank you to all of the “Friends” who have been instrumental in helping us achieve this incredible result.
I am extremely pleased to welcome Serge Kriknoff, who joins us as Chief Operational Officer in charge of technical development and production, and as a partner in MB&F. Before joining MB&F, Serge was Managing Director of 240 employees at G&F Châtelain, the supplier of HM1 and HM2 cases and buckles, so was already a ‘Friend’ of MB&F. And before that he was Production Director at Harry Winston timepieces (where we worked together for two years), Quality Director for Breguet/Lemania and headed R&D for Piaget.
Serge has a rare talent for seeing both strategic and operational requirements and acting on them. He is also very imaginative technically, and brings fresh ideas to our creations. Together we are looking forward to taking MB&F to the next level... and beyond!
If you have not already done so, please check out the new HM1 Genesis section on our website. There you can turn the pages of a diary full of drawings and images that trace the development of HM1 from initial sketches to Horological Machine.
Recognizing and valuing the importance of the US market, MB&F has taken the significant step of opening MB&F North America, which is managed by Stephen Hallock. Stephen is a passionate watch enthusiast and an active member of ThePuristS online community (www.watchprosite.com is one of the leading Internet websites for watch aficionados).
Stephen will be developing MB&F brand awareness in the region and ties to the ever-growing community of MB&F owners. We aim to offer a genuine personal service to our clients, as they are “Friends” just as are our creative and manufacturing partners. Stephen’s responsibilities include being a MB&F ‘Brand Ambassador’ and strengthening relationships with our retail partners, and the press.
MB&F is proud to announce that the prestigious Parisian concept store, Colette, has chosen Horological Machine N°2 (HM2) as one of their Iconic Timepieces of the New Millennium. Colette joins our ten retail partners as an exclusive HM2 retailer for 2008. Since its opening in March 1997, Colette has been the place in Paris for cutting-edge fashion, design, food, beauty, music, publishing and hi-tech.
Spanning three levels, Colette is a living space in perpetual movement with its own art gallery and water-bar. It has recently re-opened after a major refurbishment by Japanese architect, Masamichi Katayama/Wonderwall and is now better, brighter and bolder than ever. If you are in Paris, a visit to Colette to check out the store and HM2 is a must.
Patience please, not long to go now! We are very pleased to report that the development and production of HM3 has gone well and that we will be presenting it late October. We are very excited about HM3 and guarantee that it will be well worth the wait. Delivery first half 2009.
Thank you very much for taking some of your precious time to read our news. Please do not hesitate to send feed back and comments to info@mbandf.com to help us continually improve.
With our very best regards,
Maximilian Büsser
